The Сhallenge

Minetek designs and installs custom noise reduction systems for large-scale mining machines, including Komatsu haul trucks.

A major challenge was that many components of the noise reduction equipment are:

  • Installed underneath the machine;
  • Mounted inside structural compartments;
  • Integrated into areas inaccessible to cameras.

This makes real-world filming ineffective.

Traditional video cannot clearly demonstrate:

  • Where each noise reduction component is installed;
  • How the system integrates with heavy mining equipment;
  • How internal elements function once mounted.

The client provided only raw CAD files of the equipment. There were no structured marketing visuals and no way to clearly communicate installation logic or system layout.

The core problem:Minetek needed a precise industrial equipment visualization that could clearly demonstrate complex installations — including elements physically impossible to film.

Our Solution

We developed a fully custom industrial 3D animation based entirely on the client’s CAD data.

Our engineering animation studio handled:

  • CAD optimization for animation workflow;
  • Accurate placement of noise reduction components on a Komatsu mining truck;
  • Full industrial environment creation from scratch;
  • Camera choreography designed to reveal hidden and internal components;
  • Structured sequencing to clearly demonstrate installation logic.

Using CAD-based 3D animation, we were able to:

  • Reveal components installed beneath and inside the machine;
  • Use controlled transparency to expose internal systems;
  • Remove environmental distractions typical of real mining sites;
  • Present the equipment clearly within a heavy machinery context.

Every element beyond the raw CAD files — including environment design, materials, lighting, animation, and camera movement — was developed in-house to ensure technical accuracy and clarity.

Results

The final deliverable was a 30-second industrial 3D animation (1920 × 1080, 30 FPS) designed for marketing, trade shows, and sales presentations.

The project enabled Minetek to:

  • Clearly demonstrate noise reduction systems installed on large mining equipment;
  • Visually explain components that cannot be shown through real filming;
  • Improve communication of technical solutions to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Strengthen product credibility during sales and exhibition presentations.

The animation now serves as a high-impact mining equipment animation tool that simplifies complex engineering explanations and supports global marketing efforts.
